Explore the wildest and most rugged part of Colombia with our Colombian Amazon Villages 4-Day Tour. We'll take you to the rural villages of Puerto Nariño and Mocagua with an English-speaking guide.

Description

Day 1

We'll meet at the boardwalk of Leticia at the scheduled time and begin our 4-day adventure through one of Colombia's densest jungles. We'll board a boat and follow the Amazon river to Puerto Nariño.

Once in Puerto Nariño, we'll take a guided tour through the town, including its landscapes, architecture, and way of life. Afterwards, we'll have dinner at the hotel and then explore the Puerto Nariño jungle with rubber boots and headlamps.

Day 2

Our second day will start with a canoe ride to the Peruvian Cacao Island to discover the Amazon's trees and their properties. After lunch, we'll enjoy a boat ride on the Loretoyacu River to observe its biodiversity, including Piracu fish, crocodiles, piranhas, anacondas, and river dolphins. After sunset, we'll search for black caimans.

We'll have dinner and sleep in a cabin on the banks of Lake Tarapoto.

Day 3

After breakfast with views of Lake Tarapoto wetlands, we'll float down the Amazon River for 2 hours to Mocagua to learn about the ancestral traditions of Amazonian tribes. We'll share a traditional lunch and visit the Mocagua Monkey Sanctuary, an animal recovery center for rescued primates.

Our day will end with a night's rest in the hotel in Mocagua.

Day 4

The last day will involve traveling back to Leticia. After breakfast in Mocagua, we'll start our journey at either 7 am or 10 am. Once back in Leticia, we'll say our goodbyes.
