Explore the wildest and most rugged part of Colombia with our Colombian Amazon Villages 4-Day Tour. We'll take you to the rural villages of Puerto Nariño and Mocagua with an English-speaking guide.
Description
Day 1
We'll meet at the boardwalk of Leticia at the scheduled time and begin our 4-day adventure through one of Colombia's densest jungles. We'll board a boat and navigate the Amazon River to reach Puerto Nariño. Upon arrival, we'll take a guided tour of the town and enjoy dinner at the hotel. Later, we’ll explore the jungle at night, equipped with rubber boots and headlamps, observing insects and amphibians.
Day 2
Day two starts with a canoe ride to the Peruvian Cacao Island, where we'll learn about native trees. After lunch, we'll enjoy a boat ride on the Loretoyacu River to observe biodiversity, including Piracu fish, crocodiles, and river dolphins. As night falls, we'll look for black caimans. We will spend the night in a cabin on the banks of Lake Tarapoto.
Day 3
After breakfast, we will float down the Amazon River to Mocagua. We will share a traditional lunch and visit the Mocagua Monkey Sanctuary, which rehabilitates primates. We will rest overnight at a hotel in Mocagua.
Day 4
The final day involves traveling back to Leticia. After breakfast in Mocagua, we can depart at either 7 am or 10 am. We will conclude the tour at the initial meeting point in Leticia.
