Discover the wonders of the Amazon with a visit to Puerto Narino, a picturesque town that honors its indigenous heritage.
Details of the Day Trip
Your adventure begins at the Isla Fantasía pier on the Leticia Malecón, where we will gather at the specified time. From this point, we will board a boat and navigate the Amazon River, heading towards the fascinating town of Puerto Nariño, rich in culture and history.
Upon arrival, a knowledgeable local guide will lead us through this enchanting Colombian town. Did you know that a majority of Puerto Nariño's residents are members of indigenous ethnic groups? Together, we will uncover the stories behind the charming streets, lush meadows, and the scenic routes along the idyllic Loretoyacu River.
Throughout our exploration, we will engage in discussions about the customs and traditions of the Ticuna, Cocama, and Yagua communities, who are the primary inhabitants of this Amazonian region. You will soon understand why this town is often referred to as the "natural crib of Colombia".
To recharge, we will enjoy a typical lunch in Puerto Nariño. Following our meal, we’ll embark on a canoe adventure down the Loretoyacu River, famous for its rich biodiversity and expansive wetlands. The waters, often deep and mysterious, are home to crocodiles, piranhas, anacondas, piracucu fish, and even river dolphins.
As our excursion comes to an end, we will board the boat once again for our return to Leticia, where we will conclude our journey at the original meeting point.
