Day Trip to Widow's Mountain Range

Embark on a captivating day trip to the Widow's Mountain Range, where you will encounter breathtaking snow-covered peaks, vibrant lagoons, and enchanting landscapes.

Trip Overview

Your adventure begins with a pickup at the chosen meeting point in Lima, setting the stage for our exciting journey to the Widow's Mountain Range. As we travel, delight in stunning vistas that promise an unforgettable experience ahead.

During this 2.5-hour drive from Lima, we will pause at Santa Rosa de Quives, a charming village perfect for a breakfast break. Here, you can explore the area where Rose of Lima, a beloved saint of Peru, spent her childhood, including a visit to her chapel and the notable wishing well. Remember to bring a letter detailing your wishes to toss into the well!

Continuing our journey, we will stop briefly at the Cochapampa viewpoint, offering sweeping views of Canta and surrounding Andean towns. Next, we'll proceed to the stunning Pomora Waterfall, also referred to as Mellizadera.

As we ascend to an impressive altitude of 4800 meters (15750 feet), we will arrive at the Lagoon of 7 Colours, a sacred and visually striking site within the Widow's Mountain Range. Here, we will engage in a ritual to honor the Earth, expressing our gratitude for its abundance. You will then have 2 hours of leisure to explore the breathtaking area, or you may opt for a boat ride on the lagoon’s pristine waters.

Once we have absorbed the natural beauty, we will head to Huaros for lunch. Take advantage of this opportunity to sample local delicacies, such as trout or pachamanca!

Refreshed, we’ll begin our journey back to Lima. En route, we will make a stop at Canta, where you can relax, stretch, and possibly purchase some local goods, like homemade cheese or traditional sweets—a delightful keepsake from your trip!

Finally, after approximately 16 hours of exploration, we will conclude the day at the initial meeting point.
