Pachacamac Tour

After picking you up, we'll depart from downtown Lima and head towards the Lurin Valley. Here we'll visit the pre-Inca ruins built in honour of the god Pachacamac, creator of the universe according to the ancient Andean peoples.

Before reaching our destination, we'll make a stop in the Bohemian neighborhood of Barranco, learning about its past as a fishing village and later as an exclusive seaside resort. After exploring this urban area of Lima, we'll travel to Pachamac.

During our 30-minute tour, we'll delve into the history of the Andean civilization and uncover what daily life was like for the Moche, Huai, and Inca cultures. We will tour the impressive Pachacamac Citadel and learn about its famous oracle, making it a key ceremonial centre for the Inca Empire.

We'll approach the Temple of the Sun remains, built by the Incas from thousands of adobe bricks. From its summit, you can see the views of the Pacific Ocean, the Andes Mountains, and the esplanade with the ruins of this worship centre. We'll also see the main archaeological remains at Acllawasi, where virgins were sacrificed annually as offerings to the Sun God.

The tour will conclude with a return to your hotel in Lima after 3 hours.
