On this tour, we'll see the part of the St Declan's Way that passes through Lismore. We'll reconnect with the nature of Waterford and walk along the same route as the pilgrims did!

St Declan's Way Tour

We'll meet at 11 am on West Street in Lismore. The walk along the part of St Declan's Way that passes through Lismore will begin, a route followed by pilgrims from Cashel to Ardmore.

The tour starts by crossing the stone bridge over the River Blackwater, providing a view of Lismore Castle. As we learn about the history of this ancient Jacobean Way, we will arrive at the Ballyrafter House Hotel.

At this location, we will explore the connections between the hotel and the fortress, along with its importance to pilgrims on St Declan's Way. We will proceed to Ballyrafter Forest to discover the wildlife of County Waterford.

In the final stretch, we'll reach Millennium Park, significant to the town's heritage. The tour will conclude as we return to the starting point, finishing at approximately 12:30 pm.
