Belém Boat Tour

  • 4 Stunden

Discover Lisbon from a new perspective on this boat tour: cruise down the Tagus River to the famous Belém district. Explore historic monuments and taste traditional custard pastries.

Belém Boat Tour

We will gather at Praça do Comerço and proceed to the pier for our boat journey to Belém. The boat offers both covered and semi-covered areas and features a scenic one-hour cruise along the waters of Lisbon.

During the voyage, we will pass beneath the 25 de Abril Bridge and approach Cristo Rey on the opposite side of the river. Notable views include the Museum of Architecture, Art, and Technology of Lisbon by the historic Central Tejo steam factory. Near Belém, we will see the Padrao of the Discoveries, a 52-meter-high (170-foot) caravel-shaped monument.

The Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is another attraction visible from the water. After the hour-long boat ride, we'll disembark near the Belém Palace and then proceed on foot to a notable Belém pastry shop for its famous cream cakes.

As we explore the area, we will visit the Jerónimos Monastery and discuss Portuguese explorations at the Wind Rose. The two-and-a-half-hour walking tour concludes at the Belém Tower. We will assist you with transport tickets for your return to central Lisbon at your convenience.

Transport

If weather or river conditions are poor, the boat ride may be canceled, and transportation to Belém will be by train or streetcar. After the tour, a 24-hour ticket will be provided for Lisbon's yellow streetcars and elevators.
