Day 1: Livingstone
Arriving in Zambia marks the start of this adventure! We'll welcome you at Livingstone Airport and escort you to a conveniently located hotel, providing an opportunity to unwind following your travels.
After a brief rest, we will embark on a breathtaking sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. This scenic excursion features Victoria Falls, an iconic waterfall positioned along the Zambia-Zimbabwe border.
Concluding the one-hour boat ride, we’ll return to the hotel for a discussion about the exciting activities ahead. A delightful dinner awaits you at the hotel in Livingstone before retiring for the night.
Day 2: Livingstone - Victoria Falls - Livingstone
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will set off to visit Victoria Falls. This stop includes a 2.5-hour tour to experience the majestic cascades up close, with heights plunging from 60 to 120 meters (up to 393 feet).
Post visit, we will return to the city for a trip to the Livingstone Museum, where you'll discover an impressive collection highlighting Zambia's historical and natural heritage. A lunch break at the hotel will follow.
In the afternoon, a casual visit to the National Gallery of Art will take place, before heading to the outskirts of Livingstone for a tour of Mukuni Village. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at the hotel.
Day 3: Livingstone - Mosi Park - Kalomo - Choma
We will pick you up at dawn from your hotel, proceeding to Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park for a sunrise safari. Here, we will seek out the majestic white rhinos during a 2-hour guided tour. Following this adventure, breakfast awaits back at the hotel.
Following breakfast, we'll depart Livingstone for a 2-hour drive to Kalomo, the former capital of Northern Rhodesia, where we’ll break for lunch. Later, we’ll reach our lodge in Choma for dinner and a restful night.
Day 4: Choma
Post-breakfast, we venture to the Choma Museum, featuring a remarkable collection that provides insights into the cultural heritage of this capital of the Southern Province of Zambia. Lunch will be enjoyed nearby before we head to the Mukanzubo Kalinda Institute to delve into the traditions of the Tonga people.
A night spent in the village offers a true cultural immersion experience.
Days 5 and 6: Mukanzubo Kalinda Institute
Days five and six will be dedicated to a deep dive into the culture at the Mukanzubo Kalinda Institute. Each morning will begin with a fulfilling breakfast at the Chisekesi Lodge, followed by engaging in activities comprising music and dance workshops, museum explorations, and various craft sessions.
Meals will be served at the Kalinda Choma Institute, providing opportunities to interact with locals, including wearing their traditional clothing. After two enriching days, relaxation time will be available in the evenings.
Day 7: Mukanzubo Kalinda Institute - Monze - Chikakanta
Another breakfast will send us off to the village of Monze, where you’ll experience first-hand the local culture.
A visit to the Samu Lya Moomba National Heritage Site is next, located just outside Monze. This site sheds light on Zambia's cultural history, particularly its role as a hub for freedom fighters during the independence movement.
After a lunch stop, we will continue to Mazabuka, known for its extensive sugar cane fields. The day will culminate in our arrival at Chikakanta, specifically Chieftainess Mwenda's Chiefdom, for an overnight stay.
Day 8: Chikakanta
After breakfast at the Chikakanta Lodge, we'll engage with a traditional village, permitting a meeting with a Tonga family to gain an understanding of their daily lives.
After an enriching day, we’ll retire to the lodge for a restful night, gearing up for the next day’s activities.
Day 9: Chikakanta - Lusaka
After breakfast, we'll set off for Lusaka, the Zambian capital, reaching a central hotel around noon for the day’s stay.
Once we settle in, our historical exploration continues at the Lusaka National Museum. You'll return to the hotel later in the day for a farewell dinner.
