Day Trip to Lucca + Pisa

On this trip from Livorno to Lucca and Pisa, participants will explore significant historical sites in both cities.

Day Trip Details

Travel begins with a meeting in via Claudio Cogorano for bus departure to Lucca. The journey lasts about one hour.

Upon arrival, a guided walking tour will highlight the city’s history and main monuments, including the exterior of the Basilica of San Frediano and the tower of Palazzo Guinigi. The tour will also discuss the Amphitheater Square and notable residents like composer Giacomo Puccini.

After the tour, there will be approximately two hours of free time for lunch and further exploration before heading to Pisa.

The bus ride to Pisa takes about 40 minutes, with a drop-off 15 minutes from Piazza dei Miracoli. Participants will have around one hour and 45 minutes to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral, and the Baptistery before returning after 7 hours of sightseeing.

Participants may opt for a self-guided tour, which allows them to explore Lucca independently for the entire day.
