On this trip from Livorno to Lucca and Pisa, we will explore Lucca, a medieval town rich in historical monuments, including the Guinigi Palace, the Basilica of San Frediano, and the Amphitheater Square.
Day Trip Details
We will meet at via Claudio Cogorano and board a bus to start our journey to Lucca. After a one-hour drive, we will arrive at the historic center of Lucca for an escorted walking tour to learn about its history and see significant monuments.
The tour includes viewing the exterior of the Basilica of San Frediano and the tower of Palazzo Guinigi. We will also discuss the history of Amphitheater Square and share stories about Giacomo Puccini, a famous composer who lived in Lucca. After the walking tour, you will have approximately two hours of free time for lunch and further exploration.
After three hours in Lucca, we will board the bus for a 40-minute drive to Pisa, where you will be dropped off a 15-minute walk from Piazza dei Miracoli. You will have about one hour and 45 minutes to explore the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral, and the Baptistery.
After 7 hours of sightseeing, we will return to the starting point.
