At 8 am on the day of the tour, pickup will be at your hotel in Baños de Agua Santa. We will travel west by minibus for approximately two hours to reach the Chimborazo Fauna Production Reserve.

Upon arrival, you will view the Chimborazo volcano, the highest peak in Ecuador at 20,700 feet (6,310 meters). Nearby is the Carihuairazo volcano, our target for the day.

The tour consists of a 3-hour hiking route exploring the wilderness around the two volcanoes. The hike will traverse snowy terrain, showcasing high peaks and extensive valleys until reaching the frozen lagoon of Carihuairazo, or Laguna Congelada.

While at the icy lagoon, we will explain its formation from the melting of the glacier of the Carihuairazo volcano millions of years ago.

A break will be taken near the lagoon for a picnic that includes a sandwich, fruit, and juice. After resting, we will begin our descent back to the minibus.

We will return to your hotel, concluding the excursion at 5 pm.
