Cotopaxi Volcano Excursion

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Baños de Agua Santa between 7 am and 8 am, as we embark towards the stunning Cotopaxi province. En route, prepare to be captivated by the striking views of several towering volcanoes, including Chimborazo, Los Altares, Tungurahua, Illinizas, and Ruminahui.

After approximately two and a half hours of travel, we will reach the Cotopaxi National Park, where our ascent will commence. Did you know that Cotopaxi is acknowledged as Ecuador's most active volcano? It is also ranked among the tallest active volcanoes on the planet!

Our first stop will be the Cotopaxi Museum, where we will uncover the history of the volcano's various eruptions as well as the unique flora and fauna of the region. Next, we'll head to the Limpiopungo Lagoon, a perfect spot for capturing stunning photographs.

From the lagoon, we will navigate a trail leading to one of the park's refuges. Here, we’ll take a moment to rest and enjoy lunch. Once replenished, we will make our way up to 5,000 meters, the tour's pinnacle and the beginning of the majestic glacier that adorns the summit of the volcano.

After exploring this extraordinary area and immersing ourselves in the breathtaking surroundings, we will begin our descent back to the base of Cotopaxi. Our expedition will wrap up with your return to the hotel, anticipated around 4 pm.
