Situated along the Atlantic coastline, the Locmariaquer Megalithic Complex stands as a key archaeological treasure in Brittany.

This expansive site traces its origins back to the Neolithic era, spanning from 4500 to 2500 BC, a time marked by humanity's transition to settled lifestyles focused on farming and animal husbandry.

Among the remarkable features of the Locmariaquer complex are its immense megaliths, particularly the Er Grah Menhir, renowned for its status as the largest stone monolith in Europe. Although it has been damaged over time, this impressive structure originally measured 65 feet (20 metres) in length at the time of its erection around 4500 BC.

Hours of Operation

The Locmariaquer Megalithic Site welcomes visitors during the following hours:

April and September: 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pmMay and June: 10 am to 6 pmJuly and August: 10 am to 7 pmOctober to March: 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm

Please note that the final entry is permitted 30 minutes prior to closing.

Admission Exemptions

Access to the Locmariaquer Megalithic Complex is complimentary for the following groups:

EU citizens aged between 18 and 25 years.Individuals under 18 years, regardless of their nationality.

Additionally, general admission is free on the first Sunday of each month from January 1 to March 31, from November 1 to December 31, and during the third weekend of September.

To benefit from the complimentary admission as described above, visitors must present a certifying document at the ticket office on-site to validate their eligibility.
