Tour Overview

For those visiting Logroño and eager to learn about the intricacies of La Riojan wine, this venue is ideal. At the scheduled time, we’ll gather at the entrance of Hoplita, a winery boasting a rich history of over 500 years in the city center.

Interestingly, Hoplita stands out as the sole winery in La Rioja producing wines in the historic heart of Logroño. Nestled within the former palace of Conde de Murillo y Bornos, it offers a remarkable opportunity to immerse oneself in the region’s wine heritage.

During our visit, we will uncover the fascinating processes involved in winemaking at this establishment. Our knowledgeable guide will share insights on how this winery was capable of producing 20,000 liters of wine during the 18th century and will detail the traits of the grapes harvested from its vineyards. Additionally, we will explore the areas dedicated to barrel aging and bottling.

To conclude our experience, we’ll enjoy a tasting session of 4 wines in the barrel room. This tasting includes 2 varieties of white wine and 2 types of red wine, complemented by an aperitif featuring regional products from La Rioja.
