London to Stonehenge: Tickets & Transport

With an impressive history spanning 5,000 years, Stonehenge stands as the most renowned megalithic structure globally. Its purpose—whether as a lunar observatory, a solar temple, or a burial site—continues to intrigue. This day trip from London offers a magnificent opportunity to delve into its mysteries.

Tour Overview

Setting off from the heart of London at a time of your choice, we will journey westward toward Stonehenge. The travel time is around 2 hours, subject to traffic conditions.

Positioned on Salisbury Plain, this iconic monument consists of massive stone blocks, each weighing about 40 tonnes, that were transported to the location 5,000 years ago. The exact function of Stonehenge remains unresolved despite numerous theories. Interestingly, it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

Upon arrival, you will have a generous period of approximately 2 hours to explore at your leisure. The tour encompasses a comprehensive entry pass to the site; however, please be aware that the return journey to the visitor center, located about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) away, must be completed on foot.

After reconvening at the visitor center, we will board the bus for our return to central London, concluding our adventure at Gloucester Road in Kensington.

The designated meeting point will differ based on your selected time slot during booking:

Morning tour:

Stop 8 on Buckingham Palace Road at 8:30 am.Victoria Coach Station at 9:30 am.

Afternoon tour:

Bus stop 1 on Bulleid Way, located within Victoria Station at 1 pm.

Self-Guided Experience

Please be aware that this experience is self-guided, and no tour guide will accompany you during your visit. The driver will provide information in English during transit, but there will be no commentary regarding the visit or the history of Stonehenge.

Complimentary audio guides in English can be obtained at the entrance of Stonehenge; however, these are limited and may not always be available. Alternatively, you can download the audio guide through an app on your personal device.
