How did the Native Americans live? What beliefs did they have? In this tour to the Canipole Caves, we'll answer these questions and much more while we admire one of the best examples of cave paintings in Baja California Sur!

Canipole Cave Painting Tour

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Loreto and drive by minibus to the San Francisco mountain range, home to significant cave paintings in Baja California Sur.

Upon arrival, we'll start a 45-minute hike to the Canipole Caves. During this trek, we will observe the local flora and fauna and learn about the area's history.

We will explore how people lived before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors and missionaries as well as the organization of Native American hunting tribes, while also appreciating the cave art.

While viewing the cave drawings, we will understand their significance and reasons for preservation. You will also learn the difference between a petroglyph and a pictograph.

After a 2-hour excursion, we will return to the minibus and conclude the activity with a drop-off at your hotel.
