Ria Formosa Bike Tour

If you love biking, then you will love this tour through the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Explore the rich biodiversity of southern Portugal as you cycle through some beautiful surroundings.

Ria Formosa Bike Tour

At 10 am, we'll meet up in front of The Shack restaurant in Almancil. We will hop on the bikes to start a tour that will take us through the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The 12-mile long route will take us to all the enchanting corners of the Natural Park.

The estuary is a labyrinth of channels, marshes, and sandbanks. Along the way, you will learn about the importance of this natural environment and may encounter seahorses, flamingos, waterdogs, and other specimens of local wildlife.

We will also observe several salt flats and discuss how people work in them, along with the fishing tradition in this area of Portugal. The bike tour will finish back at the original starting point at approximately 12:30 pm.

Who can take part in the activity?

The minimum height required to participate in this activity is 4 ft. You must also weigh a minimum of 3 stones.
