At the time indicated, we'll meet at Piazzale Giuseppe Verdi and head to the walls of Lucca. Are you ready to discover one of the landmarks of this UNESCO World Heritage city?

During the tour, we'll travel between the 13th and 17th centuries to discover how military engineering has evolved in Italy. The walls of Lucca were never actually used for defensive purposes, allowing them to survive virtually intact to the present day.

The wall system is part of a public park with green areas surrounding the city. We'll admire these fortifications from both the outside and the inside. A visit to the inner galleries of the walls of Lucca will reveal where the cannons and ammunition were kept.

We'll also find bastions such as San Donato or Santa Maria and learn about their roles within the wall structure and the restoration work conducted over recent years.

Lastly, we'll end the guided tour after 2 hours at the bastion of San Martino.
