At the indicated time, we'll meet at Piazzale Giuseppe Verdi and head to the walls of Lucca. Ready to discover one of the landmarks of this UNESCO World Heritage city?

During the tour, we'll explore the evolution of military engineering in Italy from the 13th to the 17th centuries. The walls of Lucca have never been used for defensive purposes due to the absence of war, allowing them to remain virtually intact.

The wall system is part of a public park with green areas surrounding the city. We will admire these fortifications from both sides and visit the inner galleries where cannons and ammunition were stored.

We'll discover bastions such as San Donato and Santa Maria, understanding their defensive roles within the wall structure and discussing recent restoration efforts.

The guided tour will conclude after 2 hours at the bastion of San Martino.
