At the indicated time, we'll meet at Piazzale Giuseppe Verdi and head to the walls of Lucca. Prepare to explore this UNESCO World Heritage city.

During the tour, we will travel between the 13th and 17th centuries to learn about the evolution of military engineering in Italy. The walls of Lucca were never used for defensive purposes, allowing them to remain virtually intact today.

The wall system is part of a public park with green areas surrounding the city. We will observe the fortifications from both the outside and inside. A visit to the inner galleries of the walls of Lucca will show where cannons and ammunition were stored.

We will also explore bastions such as San Donato and Santa Maria, learning about their defensive roles and the restoration work completed in recent years.

Finally, the guided tour will conclude after 2 hours at the bastion of San Martino.
