At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Piazzale Giuseppe Verdi to begin this guided tour that will lead us to discover the main monuments of Lucca.
During our guided tour, we'll walk through the historic center recognized as a World Heritage Site and discover why Lucca is known as the City of 100 Towers & 100 Churches while appreciating its most emblematic buildings.
Lucca's walls have remained largely intact since the 16th century, preserving the medieval fortifications due to the absence of conflict in the city.
We'll visit the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, known for its unique shape derived from the Roman amphitheater built in the 2nd century.
We'll also walk along Via Fillungo, where notable structures like the Torre delle Ore and the Church of San Cristoforo can be found. Additionally, we will discuss Lucca's significance in the history of music, being the birthplace of the composer Giacomo Puccini, known for La bohème.
The guided tour will conclude next to the Lucca Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Martin, after 2 hours together.
