At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the statue of Garibaldi in Piazza del Giglio. Here we'll begin a guided tour to discover the importance of Lucca in the history of music.
We will discuss Giacomo Puccini outside the Teatro del Giglio, an opera house that dates back to the 17th century.
The tour includes a stroll through the historic center of Lucca, highlighting places that influenced musicians from Francesco Geminiani and Luigi Boccherini to the Rolling Stones.
We will visit Piazza Cittadella, where a sculpture honors Giacomo Puccini. We will review significant events from his biography and then enter the Puccini Museum. This museum, located in his birthplace, showcases scores, instruments, letters, and other items belonging to the composer.
The tour will conclude after 2 hours at the Puccini Museum.
