Grindelwald & First Mountain Day Trip

If you want to make the most out of the Swiss Alps, then you can't miss this trip from Lucerne, which allows you to visit the town of Grindelwald and the top of the iconic First Mountain. You'll love it!

Day Trip Details

The meeting point is at the bus parking lot in Landenberg in Lucerne, from where we will travel by bus to the Berna canton. There will be a brief stop in Interlaken for photos. Afterward, we will head to Grindelwald, where you'll receive your tickets for the return train to Interlaken and the cable car to First Mountain, reaching a height of 2100 meters (6,889 ft). You will have 3 hours of free time at First Mountain to eat and enjoy the view, with access to the First View observation platform and the Cliff Walk by Tissot suspension bridge (40 meters/131 ft long).

Remember to take the cable car back to Grindelwald on time for the return train to Interlaken, which will depart as per your ticket. The trip concludes after 10 hours at the meeting point in Lucerne.

First Flyer Zipline

Located 800 meters (2,624 ft) above ground, it reaches 84 kilometers an hour (52 mph). Availability: Until October 27, 2025.

First Glider Zipline

Similar to the First Flyer, but in the shape of an eagle for 4 riders. Availability: Until October 27, 2025.

First Mountain Car

A pedal-powered vehicle covering a 3-kilometre route (1.86 miles) to explore the landscape. Availability: May 1, 2025, to October 27, 2025.

Trottibike Scooter

An electric bike to travel from First Mountain to Grindelwald Station. Availability: May 1, 2025, to October 27, 2025.

Tour Guide

This tour is partially guided, with the guide accompanying you on the bus from Lucerne to Grindelwald and returning from Interlaken. There will be no guide during free time in Grindelwald and First Mountain or the train ride to Interlaken. Necessary information will be provided for your independent exploration. Important: from April 1, 2026, the guide will be present throughout, and the train journey will be replaced with a tour of Lauterbrunnen.
