Guided Day Trip to Mt. Pilatus from Lucerne

Trip Details

After meeting at the Landenberg bus park at the indicated time, we'll set off through the Swiss countryside to Kriens, where we'll start our "golden round trip" on the panoramic gondolas to Fräkmüntegg. The cable car ride lasts half an hour and offers views over the forests of Krienseregg and surrounding valleys and mountains.

Arriving in Fräkmüntegg, we'll then take the Dragon Ride, an aerial cableway providing views of the Swiss Alps. Upon reaching the peak of Mount Pilatus, you can explore the Dragon's Trail or walk to the mountain summit. Visit the observation terrace for views of the surrounding mountains and lakes, and enjoy Alpine cuisine in one of the restaurants at your leisure.

After your time at Mount Pilatus, we'll descend to Alpnachstad on the world's steepest cogwheel train before continuing with an hour-long boat cruise on the Lake of the Four Cantons, providing views of the Swiss Alpine landscapes. The tour concludes at the starting point after a total of 5.5 hours.

Itinerary Changes

The itinerary will be modified on the following dates:

October 19 to November 27, 2026: ascent and descent by rack railway, with no boat trip. A meal voucher will be included.On November 28 and 29, 2026: ascent by cable car, descent by rack railway, no boat trip, but a meal voucher valid for restaurants on Mount Pilatus will be included (20CHF for adults, 10CHF for children).
