Guided Day Trip to Mt. Pilatus from Lucerne

Experience the famous Golden Round Trip to Mount Pilatus: ride the steepest cogwheel train, fly over the peaks on a panoramic cable car, and enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne.

Guided Mount Pilatus Golden Round Trip

We will meet at the Landenberg bus park at the scheduled time and depart towards Kriens, where we will start the "golden round trip" on the panoramic gondolas to Fräkmüntegg. The half-hour cable car ride offers views of the forests of Krienseregg and surrounding valleys and mountains.

Upon arrival in Fräkmüntegg, we will take the Dragon Ride, an aerial cableway providing views over the Swiss Alps. At the summit of Mount Pilatus, you can explore the Dragon's Trail or walk to the mountain's peak. Visit the observation terrace for views of the mountains and lakes, and enjoy Alpine cuisine at the restaurants.

After your time at Mount Pilatus, we will descend to Alpnachstad on the cogwheel train. The tour concludes with a one-hour boat cruise on the Lake of the Four Cantons, offering views of Swiss Alpine landscapes, totaling 5.5 hours.

Itinerary Changes

The itinerary will be modified on the following dates:

Dragon Ride Cable Car: operational year-round, except between October 20th and November 7th 2025, when it will be closed for maintenance. During this time, ascent and descent will be by cogwheel train.Boat trip: available between May 12th and November 14th 2025. Note that during October 20th to November 14th 2025, this ride will be replaced by a meal ticket.
