Swiss Museum of Transport
Located in Lucerne on Lake Lucerne's shores, the Verkehrshaus or Swiss Museum of Transport features insights into the advancement of mobility. Permanent exhibitions display the progression of public transport from early infrastructures to modern technologies.
Notable exhibits include a substantial collection of Swiss SBB trains and the history of the Gotthard Tunnel, which was the longest in the world upon its completion in 1882. The land transport section houses an array of carriages, motorbikes, bicycles, and automobiles, along with a Formula 1 simulator. The museum also covers air, space, sea, and river transport.
