Lugo Guided City Tour

On the day of your tour, meet your guide by the giant chess board located in Praza Maior, Lugo's main square and the location of the Concello, the town hall.

Your guided walking tour will begin at Saint Mary's Cathedral, a 12th-century religious building on the Camino Primitivo pilgrimage route. Inside, admire the various artistic styles from Romanesque to Neoclassical and visit chapels dedicated to San Froilán and the Virgin with Big Eyes.

Next, explore Lugo's Roman walls, the only city globally with intact Roman walls. Walk along these 3rd-century walls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about Lucus Augusti.

Continue to the Domus Do Mitreo Museum, built on the remains of a Roman temple, where you can learn about Lugo's Roman past.

Your tour will include a stroll through main squares: Plaza de Santo Domingo, Plaza del Campo, Plaza de Campo Castelo, and Plaza Mayor. After 2 hours of walking, the guided tour concludes.

When booking, you can choose one of the following:

Tour without Tickets

This option offers a guided tour of the exterior of the monuments, without interior access.

Dates and times: from April 1 to October 12, 2025. Visits begin at 10 am and 5 pm, except during Easter, July, and August, which are at 10 am and 6:30 pm.

Tour with Tickets

This option includes a visit to the interior of the cathedral and the Domus do Mitreo Museum, except on Mondays when the Domus is closed; access to the cathedral towers will be provided instead.

Dates and times: available year-round, from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon.

Domus Do Mitreo Museum

The Domus Do Mitreo Museum is closed every Monday and on some national holidays. If your tour falls on such a day, the visit will include the towers of Saint Mary's Cathedral for panoramic views of the city.
