Intricately carved reliefs, mummified crocodiles and a unique double sanctuary: discover the Ancient Egyptian temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo on this guided day trip from Luxor.
Edfu & Kom Ombo Day Trip Itinerary
After being picked up from your hotel or boat in Luxor, you'll leave the city and follow the course of the River Nile south toward Upper Egypt.
The first stop will be Edfu, where you'll visit the Temple of Horus. You will explore the legends surrounding this falcon-headed deity through the inscriptions carved into the columns. These hieroglyphs depict scenes of the conflict between Horus and Seth and offer insights into the temple's construction.
After lunch at a local restaurant in Edfu, you'll continue to Kom Ombo. Here, you'll visit a unique temple dedicated to two deities: Sobek and Haroeris. The temple features a remarkable hypostyle hall with intricately engraved columns.
Next to the temple is the Crocodile Museum, showcasing mummified reptiles, which were sacred in Ancient Egypt.
At the end of the tour, you'll return to Luxor, arriving 10 hours after initial pickup.
