On this day tour, we'll visit the most famous necropolis of ancient Thebes, where the tombs of pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and queens like Nefertari are located.
Activity Details
After picking you up at your hotel, boat, or train station in the morning, we will head to the east bank to visit the necropolis. Our first stop will be the Valley of the Kings, which contains more than 60 tombs. The first burial site here was Thutmose I, making it the final resting place for kings such as Tutankhamun and Ramses II. During the visit, we will see some of the most significant tombs.
Next, we will go to the Valley of the Queens, where the tombs of princesses and wives of New Kingdom Pharaohs are located. You can visit the tomb of Nefertari, the favored wife of Ramses II, though the entry fee to this tomb is not included.
Then, we will stop at the Temple of Hatshepsut, dedicated to the only woman who ruled Egypt for an extended period. The temple, partly carved from rock and partly built with terraces, is an architectural highlight of Sennenmut.
Finally, we will visit the Colossi of Memnon, two giant stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that overlook the Nile. The tour concludes with a return to the pickup point.
Hotel Pickup
This activity includes pickup and drop-off only at hotels and boats on the eastern banks of the River Nile in Luxor. We will return you to the same location as pickup. If your accommodation is on the western banks, a meeting point will be arranged on the eastern side.
