At 8:00 am, a pick-up from your hotel in Machala will commence. You will board a minibus towards Portovelo. Upon arrival in El Oro province, the first visit will be to the Magnet Turner Mineralogical Museum, where you will learn about the properties of local stones and minerals.

The tour proceeds to Zaruma, one of Ecuador's oldest cities. During a walking tour of the historic center, the origins steeped in tradition and religion will be explored, including visits to Virgen del Carmen church, Plaza de la Independencia, and the colorful wooden houses.

Next, the tour will include the famous underground network of the Zaruma mines. You will enter the El Sexmo mine to witness the daily life of workers and learn about key minerals extracted.

During the mine visit, various mining equipment and safety gear will be observed, reflecting the historical significance of this activity in Zaruma.

After the mine visit, the group will return to the minibus and head back to Machala, arriving at 2:00 pm.
