Day Trip to Machu Picchu

Explore the majestic Andes and legendary Machu Picchu on this day trip to one of the 7 Wonders of the World.

Description

Pickup will be at your hotel, followed by transport to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes.

The train journey showcases stunning Andean landscapes visible through the glass roof. After approximately an hour and a half, we arrive in Aguas Calientes.

A bus will take us to the mountain peak to visit the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu. A 2.5-hour guided tour will follow, led by a knowledgeable guide who will share insights and highlights of the site.

Afterward, we return to Aguas Calientes for five hours of free time to explore and have lunch before meeting at the train station for the return trip to Ollantaytambo.

We expect to return to your hotel between 6 and 7 pm.

Panoramic train

The train offers large windows and a glass roof for optimal views, and you can choose between tourist class (Expedition train) or first class (Vistadome train) when booking.

Residents of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, or Peru may qualify for a discount on this trip.

Important

Tickets to Machu Picchu may sell out due to demand, in which case an alternative route will be offered.

If all routes are full, additional scenic tour options are available with a guide fee ranging from 70USD (for 1 person) to 35USD (for 2 people).

If the tour is canceled due to strikes or weather, an alternative date will be provided, or a full refund will be issued, excluding the non-cancellable entrance fee to Machu Picchu (200PEN).
