Upon arrival at the scheduled time, you will board the luxury train to Cusco, leaving behind Aguas Calientes. It's a splendid farewell to the wonders of Machu Picchu.

Before you step aboard, indulge in afternoon tea at Sanctuary Lodge. After this delightful refreshment, you will have access to the VIP lounge at the Aguas Calientes train station.

As you settle into your seats, you'll be welcomed with a signature cocktail, marking the beginning of this unique journey aboard the Hiram Bingham, surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Peruvian Andes. This train is named in honor of the explorer known for bringing Machu Picchu to the world's attention.

The stunning vistas will be complemented by the opulent interiors of the train, featuring 1920s-inspired carriages. Additionally, you'll be entertained with live performances and music throughout your travel, making you feel as though you've stepped into a classic film.

Feeling hungry? Before reaching Cusco, you’ll be served a sumptuous gourmet dinner à la carte, which includes a starter, main dish, dessert, and a drink.

After a scenic train ride lasting 3.5 hours, you'll disembark at the Poroy station in Cusco.

Rainy Season Information

For trips during the rainy season, from January 1, 2026, to April 30, 2026, please reach out to customer service for assistance with your booking. During this time, the journey will involve both a train and a bus.

Your adventure will commence on the Hiram Bingham train from Aguas Calientes to the Rio Sagrado station, which is part of the Belmond Hotel. From that point, if your accommodations are in the center of Cusco, a private minibus transfer will take you to your hotel. If your hotel lies outside the historic area, we will drop you off at the Plazoleta de las Nazarenas in Cusco.

Limited Ticket Availability

This experience occurs on one of the most sought-after trains in Peru, which has limited seating capacity. Consequently, the availability of tickets is restricted. It may happen that there are no seats on your desired date, so it is advisable to reserve as early as possible.
