Description
Pick-up will occur at your hotel at the scheduled time, followed by a journey to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our day trip begins in the colonial village of Maras, surrounded by scenic landscapes. Next, we will visit the archaeological site of Moray, situated at 3500 meters (11,500 feet) above sea level, believed to have functioned as an Inca experimental farm over 500 years ago, featuring the unique amphitheater of circular terraces.
We will then ascend to a viewpoint for a view of the salt mines of Maras, which date back to the Inca period and consist of over 3 thousand salt ponds owned by local families. The salt is treated with iodine during the dry season for commercial sale.
We will return to the meeting point to conclude our day trip.
