Mount Pico Night Climb

Activity Details

We'll meet at 2 am at the Casa da Montanha visitor centre, the starting point for our night climb of Mount Pico. After some instructions and equipment distribution, we will begin the climb at a comfortable pace for everyone.

As we ascend under the moon and stars, we will witness the sun beginning to rise over the ocean. This experience will leave a lasting impression.

We will make several stops to enjoy the natural scenery from an altitude of over 2300 meters, and it is important to note that Mount Pico is the highest point in Portugal.

Upon reaching the summit, we will take in the views of the Azores archipelago in full sunlight. Remember to bring your camera.

We will conclude the night trek of Mount Pico back at the starting point by 12 midday.

Important

Participants must be in very good physical condition. The route is not suitable for children under 13 or people over 65. Additionally, due to altitude, it is imperative that you have not engaged in any diving activities 24 hours prior to this hike.
