Activity Details

We'll meet at 2 am at the Casa da Montanha visitor centre, the starting point for our night climb of Mount Pico. A guide will provide instructions and equipment for the climb. We'll begin the ascent at a comfortable pace.

As we climb under the moonlight and stars, we'll witness the sun beginning to rise. The view of daylight breaking over the ocean from Mount Pico is unforgettable.

We will proceed to the peak, stopping at various points to appreciate the scenery from over 2300 metres. Mount Pico is the highest point in Portugal.

At the summit, we'll enjoy views of the Azores archipelago in full sunlight. Remember to bring your camera.

The night trek of Mount Pico concludes back at the starting point at 12 midday.

Important

Participants must be in very good physical condition. This activity is not recommended for children under 13 or individuals over 65. Additionally, it is imperative to have not engaged in any diving activities 24 hours before the hike.
