Mount Pico Night Climb

Nature, fresh air and breathtaking sunrise landscapes. Climb the highest peak of Portugal under the moonlight with this Mount Pico Night Climb.

Activity Details

We'll meet at 2 am at the Casa da Montanha visitor centre, the starting point for our night climb of Mount Pico. After gathering, the guide will provide instructions and equipment for the climb. We'll set off at a comfortable pace for everyone.

During the climb under the moon and stars, the sun will begin to rise, revealing daylight over the ocean from Mount Pico. We'll make several stops to enjoy the natural scenery from over 2300 metres, as Mount Pico is the highest point in Portugal.

Upon reaching the summit, we'll enjoy views of the Azores archipelago in full sunlight. Make sure to bring your camera!

We'll conclude the night trek of Mount Pico back at the starting point at 12 midday.

Important

To participate in this activity, you must be in very good physical condition. The route is not recommended for children under 13, nor for individuals over 65. Additionally, you must have not participated in any diving activities 24 hours prior to this hike.
