Pico Island Tour

At the designated time, we'll meet at the pier of Pico Island. From there, we will start our tour, passing through the island capital, Madalena.

On the outskirts of the city, we'll explore the UNESCO World Heritage wine-growing landscapes of Pico, highlighting the island’s oenological significance.

The tour will continue along the coast, arriving at the Pocinho pond, a habitat for various migratory birds. The vineyard area is watched over by Montaña do Pico, the highest peak in the Azores and Portugal at 2351 meters above sea level.

After admiring the environmental richness, we'll take a break to taste the traditional Pico cheese at the oldest cheese factory on the island. Following this, we will visit a local restaurant known for its fresh fish and local meat.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Whalers' Museum, where you will see model ships and various objects representing the importance of the whaling industry on Pico.

We will return to the north coast to admire the island of São Jorge, with an option to take a swim. The tour will conclude in Lajido village with a tasting of Verdelho wine and finish in Madalena 8.5 hours later.
