Cuenca Day Trip + Cathedral Visit

On this day trip to Cuenca, we'll visit the Cathedral and the old town's top landmarks, including the famous Hanging Houses of Cuenca.

Tour Details

We'll meet at the scheduled time at Plaza Conde Casal in Madrid to begin this trip to Cuenca. A bus will take us to the UNESCO World Heritage city.

Upon arrival, we'll embark on a panoramic bus tour of the Hoz del Huécar, home to the Hanging Houses, St. Peter's Convent, and the Posada de San José.

Next, we'll explore the Castillo neighborhood and commence a walking tour of Cuenca, visiting Plaza Mayor and the Nuestra Señora de Gracia Cathedral.

After discovering the Cathedral, you'll have 1.5 hours of free time for lunch around Plaza Mayor, featuring various local restaurants.

Following lunch, we'll visit the Hanging Houses, where the Museum of Abstract Art is located, showcasing works by prominent 20th-century Spanish artists.

In the evening, we'll return to the bus, concluding the trip after 9 hours together.

Cuenca Cathedral is one of the most important monuments in La Mancha, rich in history and architectural significance. We will explore its imposing façade, Gothic in style with French influences, built in the 12th century over an Arab mosque, making it the first Gothic cathedral in Castile.

Inside, witness the effect of the light through stained-glass windows, and discover treasures such as the Renaissance cloister, the high altar, and the Sagrario Chapel.
