Cuenca Day Trip + Cathedral Visit

On this day trip to Cuenca, we'll visit the Cathedral and the old town's top landmarks, including the famous Hanging Houses of Cuenca.

Tour Details

We'll meet at the scheduled time at Plaza Conde Casal in Madrid to begin this trip to Cuenca. We'll travel by bus to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed city.

Upon arrival, we'll take a panoramic bus tour of the Hoz del Huécar, where the Hanging Houses, St. Peter's Convent, and Posada de San José are located.

Next, we'll head to the Castillo neighborhood for a walking tour, visiting Plaza Mayor and the Nuestra Señora de Gracia Cathedral.

After exploring the Cathedral of Cuenca, you'll have 1.5 hours of free time for lunch around Plaza Mayor, where various restaurants offer local cuisine.

Later, we will visit the Hanging Houses, home to the Museum of Abstract Art, which features Spanish art from the 20th century, including works by Chillida, Feito, Canogar, Oteiza, Millares, and Tapies.

We will return to the bus in the evening, concluding the trip after approximately 9 hours.

What Will We See in Cuenca Cathedral?

Cuenca Cathedral is one of the most important monuments in La Mancha, showcasing architectural treasures and historical significance.

We will examine its imposing façade, influenced by Gothic and French styles, built over a former Arab mosque, and noted for being the first Gothic cathedral in Castile.

Inside, observe the light from the stained-glass windows. The visit will reveal hidden treasures, including the Renaissance cloister, stained-glass windows, the high altar, and the Sagrario Chapel.
