Visit two monuments on the same day with this excursion to El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen. A journey through time from the 16th century to the Spanish Civil War.

Day Trip Details

We'll meet at the designated time on Calle San Nicolás, next to Plaza de Ramales in Madrid. After introductions, we'll board the bus and set off for El Escorial.

The first stop will be the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, we'll explore the 16th century and learn about King Philip II and the area's significance in choosing this site.

As we walk through the monastery, we'll visit the Habsburg Palace, the pantheon, and the library of the Royal Monastery, providing a memorable experience.

Next, we'll visit the basilica of the Valley of the Fallen, featuring a large cross over 100 meters tall. Inside, we'll explore its chapels and learn about its history related to the Spanish Civil War.

After a five-hour tour, we'll return to Madrid and conclude at the bus parking lot at Plaza de Oriente.

Day Trip to El Escorial

If you just want to get to know El Escorial, during the booking process, you can select this option. We will leave Madrid at the designated time and travel directly to the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial for a complete guided tour of its rooms.

This option will end back at Plaza de Oriente in Madrid after a total of 4.5 hours.
