The architecture of El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen, the historical heritage of Segovia... Don't miss these jewels just outside Madrid.
Day Trip Details
We leave Madrid at 8:45 am towards the Sierra mountain range. After approximately 1 hour, we arrive at the San Lorenzo de El Escorial Monastery for a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, including information about the Royal Pantheon, the favorite rooms of the Asturian and Bourbon monarchs, and the number of books in the Royal Library.
Just 10 minutes from El Escorial is The Valley of the Fallen. Here, we will enter the basilica beneath a large cross and learn about the Spanish Civil War to understand the importance of the site.
Following this, we return to Madrid where you have free time for lunch. At 3 pm, we regroup to travel to Segovia, allowing for a walking tour through its historic center, highlighting more than just the famous aqueduct.
Before concluding the tour, we will have a guided tour of the Cathedral of Segovia to explore the royal residences of the old palace. The trip returns to Madrid around 8 pm.
