El Saltillo Gorge & White Village Hiking Tour

Admire the mountains of Málaga and cross the Almanchares River on a hiking route through the El Saltillo gorge. This excursion includes a visit to the white village of Canillas de Aceituno.

Description

We will meet on Calle Ordóñez in the center of Málaga and take a minibus to Canillas de Aceituno, approximately one hour away.

Upon arrival, we will undertake a guided walking tour of this village located at the foot of the Sierra de Tejeda mountains. The village features white houses and flower-decorated streets.

From the town center, we will commence a 6-kilometer hiking route through El Saltillo gorge, also known as 'the other Caminito del Rey'.

During the hike, we will follow the Almanchares riverbed and appreciate the beauty of the Axarquía region. The area is home to stunning landscapes, mountain goats, and birds of prey.

Additionally, we will pause for a delicious picnic composed of local products, fruit, and water. You will also receive 30 minutes of free time to take a dip in the river. After this break, we will continue on the trail.

The trekking route will conclude after about 3.5 hours, followed by our return to Málaga.
