Discover the quieter side of Malé with this day trip to the small island of Villimale. You'll see what life is like for locals and learn how they care for the environment.
Day Trip to Villimale
We'll meet at the ferry terminal in Malé to catch a boat that will take us to the island of Villimalé.
In just 15 minutes, we'll reach the island, allowing you to start exploring one of the prettiest places close to the capital city of the Maldives. Upon arrival, you'll notice that Malé and Villimale are worlds apart.
We'll walk around the island for approximately one hour, appreciating the relaxing streets. Additionally, we'll meet members of Save the Beach, an NGO, who work to preserve the environment. You'll learn about their project and the importance that locals place on environmental care.
After our exploration, we'll visit a beachside café to enjoy a delicious hedika, a traditional snack of small pastries and a cup of tea.
Before returning to the capital, we'll appreciate the natural spectacle of sunset from the tranquillity of Villimalé. We'll board the ferry again and return to Malé after a total of 4 hours.
