Discover the quieter side of Malé with this day trip to the small island of Villimale. You'll see what life is like for locals and learn how they care for the environment.
Day Trip to Villimale
We'll meet at the jetty and board a ferry which will take us to the island of Villimale.
In just 15 minutes we'll reach the island, allowing you to start exploring one of the closest locations to the capital city. Malé and Villimale are distinct.
We'll walk around the island for approximately one hour, observing the streets and meeting members of Save the Beach, a local NGO, who work on environmental preservation. You'll learn about their project and the local commitment to the environment.
After exploring Villimale, we will visit a beachside café to enjoy a traditional snack hedika, consisting of small pastries and tea.
Before returning to the capital, you'll witness a breathtaking natural sunset from Villimale. We will board the ferry again, and after 4 hours, we will arrive back in Malé.
