If you don't want to miss anything on your trip to the Maldives, enjoy a guided tour of Malé plus a tour of the island of Villimale.
Tour of Malé & Villimale
We'll meet at the port in Malé at 10 am for a brief walk towards the oldest school in the city. Malé has a literacy rate of 98%.
After visiting the school, we'll head to the Malé Friday Mosque, the second largest mosque on the island. Our expert guide will share insights about famous figures buried here.
Next, we will stop at the Royal Garden Café to try traditional black tea before admiring the 3rd November Memorial.
Our next stop will be at Sultan Park, also known as Rasrani Park. This park houses the National Museum (entrance not included).
We will return to the port, stopping outside the Islamic Centre to discuss its significance in Malé. We'll pass by Independence Square for a brief history lesson.
Next, we will visit a fish market to experience local life and enjoy a Maldivan lunch.
After lunch, we'll take a taxi to the ferry terminal and board a boat to the island of Villimale. We'll spend about an hour exploring this island, home to a local NGO, Save the Beach, which will discuss their environmental efforts.
We will conclude our visit with a stop at a local café for a traditional hedika; pastries and black tea, before returning to Malé by ferry, arriving around 5 pm.
