If you don't want to miss anything on your trip to the Maldives, enjoy a guided tour of Malé plus a tour of the island of Villimale. The best way to see what life is like for locals!

Tour of Malé & Villimale

We'll meet at the port in Malé at 10 am for a quick walk around, heading towards the oldest school in the city, known for its 98% literacy rate.

After seeing the school, we will head to the Malé Friday Mosque, the second largest mosque on the island, where our guide will discuss notable figures buried there.

Next, we will visit the Royal Garden Café to try traditional black tea and then admire the 3rd November Memorial.

Our next stop will be Sultan Park, now known as Rasrani Park, home to the National Museum (entrance not included). We will then head back to the port, stopping outside the Islamic Centre to learn about its significance. We'll pass by Independence Square, the city's political center, rich in history.

Afterwards, we will visit a fish market to interact with locals and learn about life on the island, followed by a Maldivan lunch.

With energy replenished, we will take a taxi to the ferry terminal, board a boat, and sail to the island of Villimale, formerly a prison and a peaceful escape from the city.

We will explore Villimale for about an hour, learning about the island's lifestyle and meeting members of a local NGO, Save the Beach, who will discuss their environmental efforts.

Next, we will enjoy traditional hedika at a local café before returning to the ferry and heading back to Malé, arriving around 5 pm.
