Chania, Lake Kournas & Rethymno Excursion

At 7:30 am on the morning of the tour, we will gather at the scheduled meeting point in Malia. From there, we will set off for western Crete to discover interesting locations on the island.

First, we'll stop in Chania, known as the 'mother of the Cretan cities.' We will explore the Old City, visiting the harbor, old Venetian fortifications, and Turkish mosques. In modern Chania, there will be an opportunity to enjoy local gastronomy and shop at the local market for souvenirs.

After an hour and a half in Chania, we will proceed to Lake Kournas, one of Crete's notable sites. Visitors will have two hours of free time to explore this freshwater lake, which is fed by subterranean waters from the Lefka Ori mountain range. Activities include swimming in the lake and dining at a local restaurant.

Around 4:15 pm, we will regroup and continue to our final destination, Rethymno. Upon arrival, we will explore key sites such as a 16th-century Venetian fortress, the Rimondi Fountain, and the Venetian Loggia.

This tour of western Crete will conclude around 7:30 pm, back at the meeting point in Malia.
