Samaria Gorge Hiking Tour

The tour begins early in the morning with a meeting in Malia at 5:30 am. You will travel to Skaleta in a comfortable minibus. A stop in Skaleta allows time for breakfast before heading to the Omalos Plateau.

Upon arrival, the hiking route through Samaria Gorge starts from Xyloskalo, at over 1200 meters above sea level. Over six to seven hours, explorers will traverse Samaria National Park, encountering Cypress forests, rock formations, and the crystalline waters of streams and springs, along with local wildlife and vegetation.

The trek's highlight includes the famous Iron Gates, the narrowest section of the mountain pass, ideal for photographs. The final stop is in the fishing village of Agia Roumeli, where lunch at a local restaurant is available.

After lunch, the journey back to Malia begins, with an estimated arrival time of 7:30 pm.
