Samaria Gorge Hiking Tour

We will gather at the meeting point in Malia at 5:30 am and depart for Skaleta in a minibus. There will be a stop in Skaleta for breakfast before continuing to the Omalos Plateau.

Upon arrival, we will commence our hiking route through Samaria Gorge, starting from Xyloskalo, over 1200 meters above sea level. The hike will last six to seven hours as we explore Samaria National Park, its forests, rock formations, and streams. The area is also home to diverse local wildlife and vegetation.

During the trek, we will encounter the Iron Gates, the narrowest section of the mountain pass, ideal for photographs. The tour concludes in the fishing village of Agia Roumeli, where you will have time for lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we will begin our return trip to Malia, arriving around 7:30 pm.
