Explore some of the most charming corners of the Cretan coastline and go for a swim in a beautiful bay on this excursion to Spinalonga and Kolokitha from Malia.
Spinalonga & Kolokitha Excursion
We'll meet at 8 am in Malia and head to Elounda harbor. There, we'll board a boat and set sail to the beach of Kolokitha, anchoring for a swim. Optional: enjoy a barbecue on board.
Next, we'll cross the bay of Mirabello to the island of Spinalonga, an abandoned site with a history tied to Venetian and Ottoman rule and its various battles.
During the tour, we'll view the great fortress and imposing walls of this islet in the Aegean archipelago. Notably, it served as both a defensive fortress and a leper colony at the beginning of the 20th century.
After learning about Cretan history, we'll sail back to Malia, arriving at around 7 pm.
