2-Day Amazon Adventure

Day 1 - Río Negro

Our adventure begins as we collect you from your accommodation in Manaus at the scheduled time, embarking on a two-day exploration of the Amazon jungle. A drive will take us to the area of Cachoeira do Castanho. Upon arrival, we will board a motorized canoe, setting off for a two-and-a-half-hour trek. During this hike, our knowledgeable guide will highlight various local wildlife and plants inherent to the area.

After our trek, we will arrive at a floating house on the Amazon River for a well-deserved lunch. You can expect delicious options like fish, chicken, rice, beans, spaghetti, and manioc flowers. While enjoying the meal, you may also take a refreshing swim in the river or simply soak in the picturesque surroundings. Once replenished, we will continue by canoe to visit a research center for pink dolphins, where you'll have the opportunity to encounter these sociable and intelligent beings. Afterward, we will continue our journey down the river, soaking in its stunning beauty, and later, try our luck at piranha fishing.

As the day winds down, we will paddle the canoe to catch the breathtaking sunset over this magnificent landscape. Make sure to have your camera ready to capture these unforgettable moments. On our return to camp, we aim to spot some alligators and other nocturnal wildlife.

Our day concludes with an overnight stay with a local family in the Amazon jungle.

Day 2 - Amazon

We will rise early to witness a stunning sunrise over the jungle. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, the day will unfold before us.

The second day involves more extensive travel, so we will utilize a quicker boat to navigate the waterways. Our first destination will be an indigenous village, where we will gain insights into their lifestyle, traditions, and rituals. During the dry months (August to September) and part of the wet season (January to June), we may also reach one of the region's most picturesque beaches.

If conditions allow during the wet and dry seasons, we will set off to the January Ecological Park, where lunch awaits us at a floating restaurant on the river. Afterward, we will explore the flooded forest on foot, admiring the water lilies. If reaching the floating restaurant is unfeasible, an alternative lunch venue along the Río Negro will be arranged.

Our journey will also take us to a floating community in the Amazon River, specifically Lago do Catalão, accessible in both wet and dry seasons. Here, you will witness an impressive fishfarm featuring a unique species known as Pirarucu (Arapaima gigas), referred to as river monsters.

To conclude this Amazon adventure, we will navigate towards the confluence of Río Negro and the Amazon, allowing you to behold the magnificent merger of these two natural wonders. Our journey wraps up as we return you to Manaus, with an expected arrival around 5 pm.

This tour includes one night's stay at the home of a local family in a village located within the Amazon jungle.
