On this intertropical tour of the Mangroves of Tumbes National Sanctuary, we'll explore one of the most unique ecosystems in the world while visiting a few of the area's most popular islets.
Tour Details
After picking you up at your hotel in Mancora at the designated time, we'll head for Tumbes, a coastal town located in the extreme northwest of Peru.
We'll travel by road to Puerto Pizarro, known for its mangrove forests. This ecosystem extends from the Gulf of Guayaquil to Playa Hermosa, forming passable water channels on the Tumbes River delta.
We'll visit the Isla de los Pajaros (Bird Island), known for its indigenous birds. We'll also pass La Isla Hueso de Ballena (Whale Bone Island), where you can swim at its beaches, and stop at La Isla del Amor (Love Island), offering time to relax and try local gastronomy.
Before returning to Mancora, we'll check out the center of Tumbes to visit its main square and stop at La Playa de Amotape (Amotape Beach), known for its turquoise waters.
Finally, we'll return to Mancora, dropping you off at your hotel 8 hours after pickup.
