By booking this day trip to Marsella, you'll discover one of the most traditional cities in Colombia. In addition, we'll learn how to make artisan chocolate.
Marsella Day Trip
At 7 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Manizales and drive to the department of Risaralda, home to the municipality of Marsella.
On the way, we'll pass through the coffee plantations of the Cauca River Valley. In Marsella, we will visit an agricultural farm and enjoy patacones con hogao as an aperitif.
We'll tour the farm to see fruit trees and cocoa crops, and you can participate in an organic chocolate-making workshop. You will learn to extract cocoa beans, roast and grind them. We will prepare a chocolate drink with the juice obtained.
This will be accompanied by a regional lunch featuring a typical dish such as "sancocho", made with chicken and local products.
Next, we will drive to the village and stop for a cup of Colombian coffee in the main square. We will admire Marsella's colonial architecture and visit the Casa de la Cultura, a National Heritage Site museum.
We will also stop at the Botanical Garden for a walk and the José María Cemetery, a popular site in Marsella.
Finally, we will return to Manizales and drop you off at your hotel at 4:30 pm.
