Otún Quimbaya Sanctuary Hiking Trip
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Manizales at 8 am and head south towards the Otún Quimbaya Fauna and Flora Sanctuary in Risaralda. After a two-hour drive, we will arrive at this nature reserve in the Cordillera Central of the Andean Region of Colombia, dedicated to the conservation of various species of birds, insects, small mammals, and plants, some of which are endangered.
Once there, we will embark on a 2 km walk through the Andean rainforest, which will be an easy route, allowing us to admire the lush landscapes of this ecosystem. During the walk, we will enjoy a regional lunch that includes a meal and a drink to replenish our energy.
After lunch, we will proceed with a serene nature walk where we will observe exotic birds such as the moustached tororoi, the multicoloured tanager, as well as mammals like monkeys, silver foxes, and wolf guaguas, the second largest rodent in Colombia.
To conclude the trip, we will return to Manizales and drop you off at your hotel at 3 pm.
