Otún Quimbaya Sanctuary Hiking Trip
We will pick you up at your hotel in Manizales at the designated time and travel south to the Otún Quimbaya Fauna and Flora Sanctuary in the department of Risaralda.
After a two-hour drive, we will arrive at this nature reserve in the Cordillera Central of the Andean Region of Colombia. This area is dedicated to the conservation of various birds, insects, small mammals, and plants, some of which are endangered.
We will embark on a 2 km walk through the Andean rainforest, an easy route allowing us to admire the lush landscapes.
During the walk, we will take a break for a regional lunch that includes a meal and a drink.
Afterwards, we will continue with a peaceful nature walk.
We will observe exotic birds like the moustached tororoi, multicolored tanager, and Torrentes paca, as well as mammals including monkeys, silver foxes, and wolf guaguas, the second largest rodent in Colombia.
To conclude, we will return to Manizales and you will be dropped off at your hotel after a total of 7 hours.
