Discover one of the pillars of Colombian gastronomy on our Panela Tour from Manizales, where we'll explore sugar cane plantations and learn about the production of panela.
Panela Tour
At 8 am, we'll meet you at your hotel in Manizales and drive for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to an agricultural farm.
On arrival, we will tour the sugar cane plantations to see the source of panela, an essential ingredient in Colombian gastronomy. A visit to a traditional trapiche will demonstrate how this sweetener is produced.
Panela is commonly used in Colombian desserts and drinks, including aguapanela, guarapo, and chicha. We will learn about its production process from cultivation to the solidification of sugar cane juice.
After touring the plantations, we will enjoy a pleasant walk in a natural area, followed by free time for lunch and exploration before the return trip to Manizales.
We aim to return to your hotel by 4 pm.
