Discover one of the pillars of Colombian gastronomy on our Panela Tour from Manizales, focusing on the production of panela from sugar cane.

At 8 am, we'll meet you at your hotel in Manizales and drive to an agricultural farm approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes away.
Upon arrival, we'll tour the sugar cane plantations where panela, a key ingredient in Colombian gastronomy, is produced. The visit will include a traditional trapiche, a mill used for producing this natural sweetener. Panela is used in several Colombian desserts and drinks like aguapanela, guarapo, and chicha, serving as a sugar substitute. We'll learn about the cultivation and solidification process of sugar cane juice.
After the plantation tour, we will head to a natural area for a pleasant walk. You will then have free time for lunch and to explore the reserve before returning to Manizales. We aim to arrive back at your hotel by 4 pm.
