Discover one of the most famous seaside resorts in Basilicata with this Maratea Private Tour. You'll explore the medieval village and key locations such as the statue of Christ the Redeemer and the Basilica of San Biagio.

Maratea Private Tour

Your guide will meet you at the fountain on Piazza Biagio Vitolo at the scheduled time to commence a private tour of Maratea, situated in the Gulf of Policastro overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The first stop will be the statue of Christ the Redeemer, Maratea's symbol, located atop Mount San Biagio. This 21-metre tall sculpture was created by Bruno Innocenti between 1963 and 1965 using white cement and Carrara marble. You'll experience its grandeur during the visit.

Next, visit the Basilica of San Biagio, which houses the relics of the city's patron saint. Inside the church, you can see a 15th-century fresco of the Madonna del Melograno, a marble tabernacle from 1519, and an ancient stone baptismal font from the 15th-16th century.

The tour will also include a stroll through the medieval village, allowing you to observe the historical buildings of Maratea.

After the two-hour tour, you will conclude your experience with your guide.
