Maratea Private Tour
At the chosen time, your guide will meet you near the fountain on Piazza Biagio Vitolo to begin your private tour of Maratea, located in the Gulf of Policastro and overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Your first stop is the statue of Christ the Redeemer, the town's symbol, situated atop Mount San Biagio. This sculpture, created by Bruno Innocenti between 1963 and 1965, stands 21 metres tall and is made from white cement and Carrara marble.
Next, you will visit the Basilica of San Biagio, housing the relics of the city’s patron saint. Inside, you'll find the 15th-century fresco of the Madonna del Melograno, a marble tabernacle from 1519, and a stone baptismal font from the 15th-16th century.
Your tour will conclude with a stroll through the medieval village, allowing you to experience its narrow streets and historic buildings. After the two-hour tour, you'll conclude your visit with your guide.
