2 Day Zagora Desert Trip

If you're in Marrakech for longer than a weekend break, a desert trip with an overnight stay in a traditional Amazigh tent is recommended.

2-Day Trip Details

Day 1: Ait Ben Haddou - Draâ Valley - Zagora

Depart from Marrakech towards Zagora, passing through the Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass at 2260 meters elevation, with views of various Amazigh villages. A brief stop will be made at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah before continuing through the Anti Atlas, reaching the Draâ Valley and its palm grove, the last vegetation before the desert.

Arrive in Zagora with time for a camel ride and to enjoy the desert sunset. After a traditional dinner, spend the night in an Amazigh tent.

Day 2: Zagora - Draâ Valley - Ouarzazate

Start early to witness the sunrise in the desert. After breakfast and a shower, take a 40-minute camel ride. Travel back through the Draâ Valley and Agdez to Ouarzazate, where the Taourit Kasbah will be visited. Depart back to Marrakech in the afternoon; lunch can be in Ouarzazate or on the way.

The tour returns to Marrakech in the late afternoon.

The superior camp features tents with private bathrooms. Each accommodation option includes double, triple, or family rooms. A single supplement applies for solo bookings or if a single room is requested.

Hotel Pickup

Picks are available from the Café de France in Jemaa el Fna Square for those in the Medina. For hotels or riads outside the Medina, free pickup is available, although hotels outside Marrakech incur extra charges based on distance.
