2-Day Zagora Desert Trip

Pressed for time but eager to experience the Moroccan desert? This excursion to the Zagora Desert offers a convenient solution for those wishing to spend a night in a haima and ride camels without extensive travel. Within just two days, you will traverse the High Atlas and encounter the Sahara's threshold, exploring a terrain characterized by a stone desert.

2-Day Trip Overview

Day 1: Ait Ben Haddou - Draâ Valley - Zagora

Our journey begins as we depart from Marrakech at the scheduled time towards Zagora. En route, we'll navigate the breathtaking Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass, which rises to 2260 meters, offering views of numerous Amazigh villages.

After a visit to the historic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, we resume our travels towards Zagora, passing through the Anti Atlas and catching a glimpse of the Amazigh village of Agdez, followed by the picturesque Draâ Valley and its lush palm groves, marking the last signs of vegetation before reaching the desert.

Upon arrival in Zagora, you'll have ample opportunity to enjoy a camel ride and witness the stunning sunset over the desert landscape.

After savoring a traditional dinner, the night will be spent in an authentic Amazigh tent.

Day 2: Zagora - Draâ Valley - Ouarzazate

On the second morning, an early wake-up will reward you with the enchanting sight of dawn in the desert. Once the sun rises, and after a hearty breakfast and a refreshing shower, we'll embark on a 40-minute camel trek across the sands.

We will retrace our path back through the Draâ Valley and Agdez, making our way to Ouarzazate, where a visit to the Taourit Kasbah awaits.

Later in the afternoon, we will begin our journey back to Marrakech. You'll have the option to eat either in Ouarzazate or en route.

Our return to Marrakech is anticipated in the late afternoon.

Accommodation Choices

During the booking process, you can select from two accommodation types:

The standard camp, which accommodates a maximum of 5 people, offers communal bathrooms and showers.The superior camp, allowing up to 4 guests, features private bathrooms within the tents.

Regardless of your choice, your accommodation will be exclusively yours, as we provide double, triple, and family tents. Should a single traveler wish for their own space, an additional single supplement will apply.

The standard and superior camps are distinct offerings.

Pickup Locations

If your accommodation is within the Medina, you may need to arrive at the following pickup locations:

For guests outside the Medina, complimentary pickups are available from your hotel or riad. Those staying further away may incur an additional fee of 10EUR or 40EUR, depending on distance.
