4 Day Merzouga Desert Trip

Visit the enchanting Sahara Desert on a 4-day trip from Marrakech, exploring dirt roads, valleys, mountain passes, gorges, dunes, and villages.

Trip Description

Day 1: Marrakesh - Aït Benhaddou - Valley of the Roses - Dadès Gorges

After hotel or airport pickup, travel to Ouarzazate via the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass. Visit Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a filming location for various movies. Continue to Skoura and Kelaat M'Gouna in the Valley of the Roses, then head to Dadès Gorges for the night.

Day 2: Dadès Gorges - Todgha Gorges - Merzouga

After breakfast, travel through Todgha Gorges and have lunch before proceeding to Merzouga. Visit the Jorf palm grove and Erfoud for fossils. Switch to camels for an immersive desert experience and stay at a Bedouin camp with a traditional Moroccan dinner.

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Tazarine - Tizi N'Tfrkhin - Ouarzazate

Experience the sunrise over the desert, then return to Ouarzazate via the Tafilalet Palm Grove and Rissani. Travel through Alnif and the Anti-Atlas mountain range. After lunch in Klaat M'Gouna, arrive in Ouarzazate for overnight stay in a hotel/kasbah.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After breakfast, explore Ouarzazate, with a recommendation to visit Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios. Departure between 12 and 3:30 PM to return to Marrakech in the early afternoon.

Standard hotels: Kasbah Tifawe / Dar Essyaha (Dadès), Haima Camp (Merzouga), Hotel Les Jardins / Hotel Azoul (Ouarzazate).Luxury hotels: Azawad Luxury Desert Camp (Merzouga) with similar accommodations in Dadès and Ouarzazate.

Single rooms are not available; only double, triple, or family rooms. Standard rooms have communal showers, while superior rooms have private bathrooms. A single supplement applies for solo bookings.

Hotel Pickup

If staying in the Medina, proceed to the meeting point. For accommodations outside, free pickup is offered, but an extra charge of 10EUR to 40EUR may apply based on distance.
