4 Day Merzouga Desert Trip

Visit the Sahara Desert on a 4-day trip from Marrakech. Explore dirt roads, valleys, mountain passes, gorges, dunes, and villages.

Trip Description

Day 1: Marrakesh - Aït Benhaddou - Valley of the Roses - Dadès Gorges

We will collect you from your hotel, riad, or airport and head to Ouarzazate, passing through the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass. We will arrive at Aït Benhaddou, a notable fortified city and filming location for several movies. Our journey continues on the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs to Skoura and Kelaat M'Gouna, proceeding to the Dadès Gorges for the night.

Day 2: Dadès Gorges - Todgha Gorges - Merzouga

After breakfast, we set off towards the Dadès Valley, traveling through the Todgha Gorges and stopping for lunch. We will then proceed to Merzouga, passing Jorf palm grove and Erfoud, before swapping vehicles for camels to reach the Bedouin camp where we will stay overnight with a traditional Moroccan dinner.

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Tazarine - Tizi N'Tfrkhin - Ouarzazate

We start with a sunrise over the desert before returning to Ouarzazate via Rissani and Alnif. We will visit the stunning Anti-Atlas mountain range and stop in Klaat M'Gouna for lunch. We will reach Ouarzazate in the afternoon, spending the night in a hotel/kasbah.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After breakfast, you will have the morning free to explore Ouarzazate. We will depart between 12 and 3:30 PM, returning you to Marrakech in the early afternoon.

Accommodation types include shared double rooms with the option for triple or family rooms. Bathrooms vary by category.

Hotel Pickup

Picks from the Medina require a meeting point. Hotels outside the Medina incur a pickup fee of 10 to 40 EUR, depending on distance.
