If you're staying in Marrakech and want to explore the desert at your leisure, you can book any of our private tours. These tours are 2 to 4 days long and include pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, transport in a luxury private vehicle with an English-speaking driver and standard or premium accommodation.
2 Day Zagora Desert Tour
This 2-day trip to the Zagora Sahara Desert includes visits to traditional Amazigh communities. You'll travel across the Atlas mountain range and Drâa Valley, ride a camel, and spend the night in a traditional Amazigh haima. The next day features a desert sunrise before returning to Marrakech, stopping at Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah Taourirt.
3 Day Merzouga Desert Tour
This tour includes visits to Kasbah de Ait-Ben-Haddou and the Kasbah of Taourirt, spending the night in the Dadès Gorges. You'll explore Dadès Valley, Todra Gorge, and reach Merzouga for an overnight stay. The final day includes a desert sunrise and scenic drive back, with the option to end in Fez.
4 Day Merzouga Desert Tour
Similar to the 3-day tour but extended to include additional landscapes. The itinerary covers the Atlas Mountains, Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, and goes through the Dadès Valley, where you'll have a camel ride and visit the Atlas Film Studios before concluding in Marrakech.
Accommodation
On the 2-day trip to Zagora, you'll stay at a desert camp with shared facilities. On the 3 and 4-day trips to Merzouga, accommodation is standard or superior, including hotels and desert camps with shared bathrooms. Air-conditioning in luxury camps incurs an additional charge of 30EUR per person.
