Airboat Trip in Barataria Preserve

You will meet at your chosen time on Barataria Boulevard to board the airboat for a tour of the Barataria Preserve's swamps, which are part of Jean Lafitte National Park. The airboat enables travel at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour, with pauses for photography opportunities. The captain will share insights about local culture and life, including how fishermen navigate the ecosystem.

The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Capacity of the Airboats

Two types of airboats are available: a standard boat for up to 16 people and a smaller boat for up to 9 people. The small group option offers a more personalized route and commentary.

Children Under 17

Children under 17 may join if they are over 4 feet (122 centimeters) tall. Those under this height cannot board the airboat.

Hotel pickup

A hotel pickup service can be booked. Pickup occurs 1.5 hours before the boat ride, with a return trip provided after the activity from New Orleans accommodations.
