Airboat Trip in Barataria Preserve

Meet various bayou creatures like ospreys, pelicans, frogs, turtles, owls, and snakes. The tour starts at your chosen time on Barataria Boulevard, where we board the airboat for a journey through the swamps of the Barataria Preserve, part of the Jean Lafitte National Park. The hovercraft allows us to reach speeds up to 40 miles per hour, with stops for capturing scenic views. The airboat will take us to hidden corners of the reserve not accessible by traditional vessels, providing a memorable experience. During the trip, the captain will share insights about the local culture and fishing practices in this region known for alligators. The tour concludes 1 hour and 40 minutes after it begins.

Capacity of the Airboats

There are two types of airboats: a standard one with a capacity of up to 16 people and a smaller one for up to 9 people. While both options share the same route, the small group option offers a more personalized experience.

Children Under 17

Children under 17 can participate if they are over 4 feet (122 centimeters) tall. Those below this height cannot board the airboat.

Hotel pickup

You can choose a collection service from your hotel, with pick-up occurring one and a half hours before the boat ride, followed by a drop-off after the activity in New Orleans.
