Airboat Trip in Barataria Preserve

Meet colorful bayou creatures such as ospreys, pelicans, frogs, turtles, owls, and snakes. We will meet at your chosen time on Barataria Boulevard, board the airboat, and tour the swamps of the Barataria Preserve. The tour includes navigating through the waters of these marshes, part of the Jean Lafitte National Park. The hovercraft allows us to reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour, with slower speeds at certain points for photography. The airboat accesses hidden corners of the reserve not reachable by traditional vessels. The captain will share insights about the local culture and how fishermen thrive in this environment. The tour lasts one hour and 40 minutes.

Capacity of the Airboats

There are two types of airboats available: a standard one with a capacity of up to 16 people and a smaller one accommodating up to 9 people. The small group option offers a more personalized experience.

Children Under 17

Children under 17 may participate if they are over 4 feet (122 centimeters) tall. Those under this height cannot board the airboat.

Hotel pickup

You can book a hotel pickup service, where we will collect you one and a half hours before the boat ride and return you after the activity in New Orleans.

Oak Alley Plantation

Upgrade your experience with an airboat ride plus a visit to Oak Alley Plantation. This option includes hotel pickup and drop-off, an English-speaking guide, and admission to the plantation. The tour lasts 9 hours, starting with a guided mansion tour followed by the airboat ride.
